Have a dream weekend on Ærø

There are SO many beautiful and delicious places on the Island of Desire, we would like to share them with you.
This weekend I was visited by my wonderful friend Christina and I had a surprise up my sleeve.
We were supposed to be “tourists on the Island of Desire”. We were supposed to eat at Arnfeldt, which is one of our absolute favorite restaurants, but we were also supposed to stay the night at their hotel. Christina came and picked me up from the store, she stocked up on delicious linen for her own wardrobe.

After a glass of cold white wine at the small “secret” Italian cafe on Pilebækken, we checked into Arnfeldt.
After checking into the finest room, overlooking the harbor, we enjoyed Ariel's delicious food, served with the world's best Mie.
The food, wine and atmosphere are just so light and relaxed, while the food and wine are top notch.
We two princesses went to bed happy and very tipsy, where we, like a couple of girls at camp, laughed our way to sleep.

Lovely Mie was ready with a delicious breakfast and lovely coffee. Then we had to look after the shop for a few hours, where we had visits from the most lovely customers.
Christina was very surprised by how cozy the atmosphere was in the store, how many nice customers, new and old, came by.

After the store closed, it was time for lunch at the lovely Købmandsgården.
Before Christina went to see our little house in the countryside, she naturally had to stop by and experience another favorite place on Ønskeøen, Ærø soap.

Christina and I knew each other when we were teenagers. We lost touch, but met again at Frederiksberg Hospital's maternity ward 25 years ago. We each arrived rolling in with our own little babies and discovered that two days earlier, 10 minutes apart, we had given birth to our beautiful children, Rebecca and Karl Emil.
It's a kind of silver wedding, where we have followed each other into adulthood.
